1970 - 74: Education to technical draftsman
1974 - 79: Employed as technical draftsman
1979 - 80: Fachoberschule in Aachen (Germany)
1980 - 83: Fachhochschule in Aachen (Germany)
1983 - 88: Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht
since 1988: Working as a freelance artist and art teacher

1999: Further education by Professor Lakner at the university of Essen (Germany)
1999: Receiving a grant from the province of Limburg (The Netherlands)

Helmut Jöcken is a registered artist with the foundation "Kunst & Cultuur" (Art & Culture) of the province of Limburg, the Netherlands. He has also been entered into the documentation database of this foundation.
Member of the Professional association of artists (BBK).
